Since Mobility Networks was founded in 2014, we have quickly established ourselves as the international specialist in developing inspired accessibility solutions, to enrich lives and promote inclusivity. Put simply, we’re proud that we’re helping change people’s lives in just seven short years to date, giving them back their independence. It’s exactly that which motivates each and every employee here – such a worthwhile cause.
But our history goes long before our establishment.
Currently within the Mobility Networks Group includes three other companies: Elefantcar, Caroil Systems and Passenger Lift Services.
Elefantcar have been in the industry since 1970, specialising in reliable and high-quality lift systems for trucks, originally from Suzzara, Italy. Caroil were themselves founded in 1995, in Gonzaga, Italy, and quickly become one of the key manufacturers and distributors of mobility solutions on the European continent, before together they were both acquired by Mobility Networks in 2015.
That leaves just one left to discuss: Passenger Lift Services, or PLS for short.
A little older than Caroil, PLS was founded in Birmingham, UK, back in 1990. However, it was in April 1991 when production on their first lifts was completed and sales could begin, starting a love affair with changing people’s lives for the better that has lasted 30 years.
Therefore, please join us in wishing PLS a very happy 30th birthday!
Based in the West Midlands, the traditional heartland of manufacturing and production in the UK, the proud and talented team at PLS have the mission to design and manufacture the safest vehicle passenger lifts in the world. Like every person within the Mobility Networks Group, they strive to succeed expectations in quality, reliability and operational performance – all without compromise.
You can’t have the success and longevity of PLS without that mindset of continuous improvement. To top it all off, they are ISO certified. Twice.
It goes without saying that this approach to creating vehicle accessibility solutions with care and consideration reverberates right through the Mobility Networks Group as a whole.
We’ll be sure to celebrate their milestone birthday in earnest when we can safely do so. For now, we’ll have to make do with this article and a reminisce on a few Microsoft Teams calls!
Here’s to the next 30 years...
